What is CASODEX and what is it used for?

Round, biconvex white film-coated tablets.

The tablets are printed with 50 on one side and the logo on the other.

CASODEX film tablet is presented in a package containing 28 tablets.

CASODEX contains a medicine called bicalutamide. This drug belongs to a group of drugs called "anti-androgens".

• CASODEX is used in the treatment of prostate cancer.

• It works by blocking the effects of male hormones such as testosterone.
3. How to use CASODEX?

Always follow your doctor's instructions strictly while using CASODEX. If you are not sure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Application route and method

• The recommended dosage for an adult is one tablet per day.

• Swallow your tablets whole with a glass of water.

• Try to take your medicine at the same times every day.

• Do not stop taking your tablets without your doctor telling you, even if you feel good.

Dose changes are not recommended in the elderly. It is used in the dosage used in adults.
Special use cases
Kidney / Liver failure:

Dose adjustment is not required in patients with renal insufficiency.

If you use more CASODEX than you should

If you have used more than you should use from CASODEX, contact a doctor or pharmacist.
If you forgot to use CASODEX

If you forget to take your medicine, skip the missed dose and continue your treatment by taking the next dose on time.

Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses.
Effects that may occur when treatment with CASODEX is terminated:

Do not stop using CASODEX without consulting your doctor. Clinically, discontinuation of Casodex therapy may result in antiandrogen withdrawal syndrome in some patients.
If you have any other questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
4. What are the possible side effects?

Like all medicines, there may be side effects in people who are sensitive to the substances in the content of CASODEX.

If any of the following occur, stop using CASODEX and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or contact the emergency department of your nearest hospital.
Allergic reactions

Uncommon (less than one in 100 patients, but more than one in 1000 patients):

Symptoms may include the sudden onset of the following effects:

Rash, itching or stinging sensation on the skin

Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or other parts of the body

Shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing

These are all very serious side effects.

If you have one of these, it means you have a serious allergy to CASODEX. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalization.

Side effects are classified as shown in the following categories:

Very common: It can be seen in at least one of 10 patients.

Common: less than one in 10 patients, but more than one in 100 patients.

Uncommon: less than one in 100 patients, but more than one in 1,000 patients. Rare: less than one in 1,000 patients, but more than one in 10,000 patients.

Very rare: may be seen less than one in 10,000 patients.

Unknown: It cannot be estimated from the available data.
Very common:

Abdominal pain

Blood in urine

Dizziness

Constipation

Feeling nauseous

Swelling and tenderness in the breasts

Hot flushes

• feeling exhausted

Swelling

• Reduced levels of red blood cells (anemia). This can make you feel tired or look pale.
Common:

• Yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes (jaundice). These may be signs of liver problems or, in rare cases (can be seen in 1 in 1,000 people), liver failure.

Poor appetite

• Decreased sexual desire

Depression

Indigestion

Gas in the stomach

•    Hair loss

• Hair regrowth or hair growth

Dry skin

Itching

Rash

Erection problems (impotence)

Unusual:
