2.What is FLANTADIN and what is it used for?

FLANTADIN 30 mg tablet is in the form of round, white, uncoated tablets with one side cross and the other side 30 printed. Each tablet contains 30 mg of deflazacort active ingredient. It is available in blister packs containing 10 tablets. Also available in the market is FLANTADIN 6 mg tablet form containing 6 mg deflazacort active ingredient in 1 tablet.

FLANTADIN is a synthetic corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are found naturally in the body and help maintain the health of the body. External administration of corticosteroids such as FLANTADIN is an effective way to treat various diseases that cause inflammation in the body.

FLANTADIN acts by reducing inflammation, which can lead to important health problems.

FLANTADIN stops autoimmune reactions. In these reactions, the body's immune system causes adverse effects on its own tissues and causes damage.

Your doctor may have prescribed FLANTADIN for one or more of the following reasons:

Treatment of very severe response of the body to allergic substances, sudden hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis) and asthma (shortness of breath due to narrowing of the airways in the lungs)

• Treatment of some rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile chronic arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica)

Treatment of connective tissue diseases that cause skin, kidney, heart, digestive system, eye disorders (systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, mixed connective tissue disease (except systemic sclerosis), polyarteritis nodosa, sarcoidosis)

Treatment of some skin diseases (pemphigus, bullous pemphigoid, pyoderma gangrenosum)

• In the treatment of a kidney disease called nephrotic syndrome, which causes swelling (edema) in the legs and eyelids caused by excessive protein loss through the kidney, anorexia, excessive thirst and vomiting (acute interstitial nephritis).

• Treatment of a kind of inflammatory disease of the heart (rheumatic carditis)

Treatment of inflammatory diseases of the intestines (ulcerative colitis) and digestive tract (Crohn's disease)

Treatment of some eye diseases (uveitis, optic neuritis)

Treatment of blood diseases (autoimmune hemolytic anemia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura) that develop as a result of immune system attacks against the body's own tissue.

Treatment of blood cancer or other tumors in your body (acute and lymphatic leukemia, malignant lymphoma, multiple myeloma)

Suppression of your immune system against the transplanted organ (immunosuppression in transplantation)
3.How to use FLANTADIN?
Instructions for appropriate use and dose / frequency of administration

Your doctor will tell you how and in what dosage you should use your medication.

The doses administered may vary depending on the severity and course of your treated disease. Your doctor may prescribe high doses of FLANTADIN in serious and life-threatening situations.

• In acute diseases, the daily starting dose is 120 mg FLANTADIN. In most cases, the maintenance dose does not exceed 18 mg.

• Rheumatoid arthritis (joint rheumatism): The maintenance dose is usually between 3 and 18 mg per day. The lowest effective dose should be used and increased when necessary.

• Bronchial asthma: In the treatment of acute attacks, doses as high as 48-72 mg per day may be required depending on the severity, and the dose is gradually reduced after the attack is controlled. In chronic asthma, the maintenance dose should be set to the lowest dose that controls symptoms.

Other conditions: The dose of deflazacort is titrated to the lowest effective dose depending on clinical need.
Application route and method

• FLANTADIN is taken orally. Swallow the tablets with a glass of water as recommended by your doctor. It can be used before or after meals.

• If used for long-term treatment, your doctor will set the lowest effective dose specifically for you. This adjustment is based on the diagnosis, the severity of your illness, and your response and tolerance to treatment.

• In order to avoid problems that may occur after stopping the drug, a gradual dose reduction should be applied after long-term treatment.
