What is BETOPTIC and what is it used for?

BETOPTIC is a colorless, clear eye drop solution.

BETOPTIC contains betaxolol hydrochloride as an active ingredient.

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Ophthalmologists - antiglaucoma preparations and miotics - beta blocking agents.

It is offered in a 5mL self-dropper (DROP-TAINER) bottle. There is a protective tape around the cover against contact.

BETOPTIC eye drops are used to treat high pressure in the eye. High intraocular pressure can cause a disease called glaucoma.

High pressure in the eye: Your eyeball contains a clear, water-like fluid that nourishes the inside of the eye. This fluid is constantly poured out of the eye and more fluid is produced again. if

If the eyeball fills with fluid faster than it is expelled, pressure builds up inside the eye. If this amount gets too high, your vision may be impaired.

BETOPTIC is in the group of drugs called beta blockers used for glaucoma treatment. It reduces the fluid production in the eye and reduces the pressure. It can be used alone or in combination with other pressure reducing drugs.
