What is CLOPIXOL and what is it used for?

CLOPIXOL 2 mg film tablet is a pale red film coated tablets each rounded with 2 mg of zuclopenthixol, both surfaces of which are curved. It is presented to the market in a child-locked plastic bottle containing 50 film tablets.

CLOPDCOL is included in the drug group known as "antipsychotics" or "neuroleptics". These drugs act on the nerve pathways in certain areas of the brain, helping to correct some chemical imbalances in your brain that cause symptoms of your disease.

CLOPIXOL; schizophrenia and similar psychoses. It is also used to control agitation and aggressive behavior in mania (flood attack) treatment and mentally handicapped patients.

However, your doctor may recommend CLOPIXOL for other purposes. If you have questions about why CLOPIXOL is given to you, consult your doctor.

How to use CLOPIXOL

Always use CLOPDCOL as instructed by your doctor. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

The dose depends on the severity of the disease and can vary considerably accordingly.

Recommended dosage:

Adults

Schizophrenia, mania and other psychoses

Initial doses are usually 10 mg and 50 mg per day. This dose can be gradually increased to 75 mg per day.

Some patients may require very high doses. The maximum dose is 150 mg per day. Continued doses are usually 20 to 40 mg per day.

Agitation in mentally handicapped patients

Usually the dose is 6 mg and 20 mg per day. If necessary, this dose can be increased to 25-40 mg per day.
Application path and method

CLOPDCOL can be used with food or on an empty stomach.

Swallow the tablets with water. Do not chew.

CLOPIXOL should be used as 2 or 3 separate doses per day at the beginning of treatment. CLOPDCOL can be used as a single daily dose at the onset of treatment.
Different age groups

Use in children and adolescents:

CLOPDCOL is not recommended for use in this patient group.
Use in the elderly

Elderly patients should take doses at the lower limit of the dose range.
Special use cases

Patients at special risk;

Liver failure:

The lowest treatment doses are used in patients with liver complaints.
Kidney failure:

CLOPIXOL can be given at normal doses with reduced renal function.
Treatment duration

As with other medicines used for psychosis, you may find yourself feeling better for a few weeks.

Your doctor will decide how long your treatment will last. As long as your doctor prescribes, continue to use tablets. The underlying disease may last for a long time and your disease may reoccur if you stop treatment very early.

You never change the dose of your medication without talking to your doctor.

If you have an impression that the effect of CLOPIXOL is too strong or weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you use more CLOPIXOL than you need

CLOPIXOL If you have used too much or have used a patient, talk to your doctor or consult your nearest hospital emergency room immediately.

You should do this even if there is no discomfort or poisoning. When you go to a doctor or a hospital, you have to take the CLOPDCOL box together.

Overdose is detected in:
Dizziness
Loss of consciousness
Muscle movements and stiffness
Convulsions (convulsions)
Low blood pressure, weak pulse, fast heartbeat, pallor, restlessness
High or low body temperature
When ClopIxol is taken at an overdose with known drugs that affect the heart, heart rate changes such as heart rate irregularity, slowing may be seen.
If you forgot to use CLOPIXOL

If you forget to take a dose at the usual time, remember not to remember. If you are close to getting your next dose, you do not need to be dazed. Just take the next dose when you need it.

Do not take double doses to compensate for forgotten doses.
Possible effects of termination of treatment with CLOPIXOL:

Your doctor will decide when and how to stop treatment. Otherwise, you may experience uncomfortable symptoms (eg: difficulty sleeping, muscle stiffness, not feeling well) if you suddenly break the pill.
