What is DOGMATIL and what is it used for?
It belongs to a drug group called DOGMATYL benzamide. It acts by blocking the action of a chemical substance called a dopamine in the brain.
DOGMATIL contains sulpiride active substance. There are 200 mg of active ingredient per tablet. Usage was offered in blister packs containing 24 tablets.
Your doctor may have prescribed you DOGMATIL for one or more of the following reasons:

What are the possible side effects?

• Life threatening neuroleptic malignant syndrome: unexplained fever, sweating, paleness, loss of consciousness, muscle retention, changes in blood pressure or heart rhythm
• Seizures,

o Erythromycin, vincomycin and the like, which are used via the vein, halofantrine, pentamidine, sparfloxacin, moxifloxacin
• Drugs that reduce heart rate (bradycardic calcium channel blockers: diltiazem, verapamil, beta-blockers, clonidine, guanfasine, digital drugs, anticholinesterase drugs: donepezil, rivastigmin, takrin, ambenonium, galantamine, pyridostigmine, neostigmin)
• Drugs that lower blood potassium levels (hypokalemic diuretics, stimulant laxatives, amphotericin B (vascular), glucocorticoids, tetracosaccharide)
When used with these drugs, the risk of severe heart rhythm disturbance increases, especially the risk of Torsades de pointes. Clinical monitoring of the patient and regular ECG monitoring is required.
