Excipients

What is KESTINE and what is it used for?

KESTINE is an antihistamine used in allergy treatment. Antihistamine drugs neutralize the effect of histamine and eliminate allergy symptoms.

KESTINE is a white, round, film tablet with E20 printing on one side, taken orally. Presented in a blister package containing 20 film-coated tablets.

KESTINE; In patients over 2 years of age,

- Allergic conjunctivitis (itchy and watery eyes),

Chronic allergic rhinitis (allergic rhinitis all year long),

- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever),

- Idiopathic chronic urticaria (chronic urticaria with unknown cause; swelling, redness and itching of the skin) and

- It is used in the treatment of symptoms of allergic dermatitis (allergic eczema).
3.How to use KESTINE?

Always use KESTINE in accordance with your doctor's instructions. If you are not sure how to use it, you should consult your doctor.

Adults and children over 12 years old

The recommended daily dose for KESTINE 20 mg Film Tablet is one tablet (20 mg ebastine).

Application route and method

KESTINE can be taken orally, on an empty or full stomach.

Use in the elderly

No dosage adjustment is required in the elderly.

Special use cases

Kidney failure

There is no need for any dose adjustment. Liver failure

No dose adjustment is required in mild or moderate hepatic impairment. In patients with severe hepatic impairment, the daily dose should not exceed 10 mg.

Your doctor will determine the dose of your medicine depending on your illness and apply it to you.

If you have an impression that the effect of KESTINE is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you use more KESTINE than you should

Call your doctor immediately.

If you forgot to use KESTINE

Take the missed dose when you remember. Wait 24 hours for the next dose.

Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses.
4. What are the possible side effects?

Like all medicines, people who are sensitive to the substances contained in KESTINE may have side effects.

If any of the following occur stop using KESTINE and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the nearest emergency department:

Skin rash (redness, swelling)

These are very serious side effects. If you have one of these, you have a serious allergy to KESTINE. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalization.

All of these very serious side effects are very rare.

If you notice any of the following, inform your doctor immediately or contact the emergency department of the hospital nearest you:

• Nervousness, emotional lability, excessive activity. These are all serious side effects. Immediate medical attention may be required. These serious side effects are rare.

If you notice any of the following, tell your doctor:

Increased appetite

• Headache

• weakness (asthenia)

• Diarrhea

Taste disturbance

• Sleeping state

Dry mouth
Things to consider before using KESTINE 2.
DO NOT USE KESTINE in the following situations

If you are allergic to the active ingredient ebastine or its excipients, you should not use it.

USE KESTINE CAREFULLY in the following situations

If you have a severe liver disorder, tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Please consult your doctor if these warnings are valid for you, even at any time in the past.

Using KESTINE with food and drink

KESTINE can be taken with or without food.

Pregnancy

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.
