LUMIGAN is an antiglaucoma drug. It belongs to a group of drugs called prostamids.
LUMIGAN eye drops are used to lower the high pressure in the eye. This high pressure can lead to a disease called glaucoma. If the high pressure cannot be reduced, it may eventually impair your vision.
Your eye contains a clear, water-like liquid that nourishes the inside of the eye. This fluid is constantly emptied out of the eye and replaced by the newly made fluid. If the fluid is not drained out quickly enough, the pressure inside the eye will increase. LUMIGAN works by increasing the amount of fluid discharged. This reduces the pressure in the eye.
LUMIGAN can be used alone or in combination with other drops called beta-blockers, which reduce intraocular pressure.
administration In treatments given alone or in combination with other drugs that lower eye pressure,a single drop to the patient's eye once a day in the evening.
