MOTILIUM 10 mg film tablet Taken orally.

Active ingredient
Each film-coated tablet contains 10 milligrams of domperidone.

Excipients
Lactose (bovine), corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, polyvidone K90, magnesium stearate, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, purified water.
What is MOTILIUM and what is it used for?

• MOTILIUM 10 mg Film Tablet is in the form of film tablets containing 10 milligrams of domperidone.

• Domperidone, the active ingredient of MOTILIUM, belongs to a group of drugs called antiemetics and those used against nausea.

• MOTILIUM 10 mg Film Tablet is offered to the market in blister packages containing 21 film tablets.

Drugs in this group regulate by increasing stomach and bowel movements. In this way, the emptying of the stomach is facilitated and the stomach is prevented from operating back towards the esophagus.

• MOTILIUM is used to treat nausea and vomiting in adults and children.
3.How to use MOTILIUM?

Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, follow the instructions below.
Instructions for proper use and dose / frequency of administration

Take MOTILIUM before meals, as the absorption of the drug is delayed a little when taken after meals.
Duration of treatment

Symptoms usually improve within 3 to 4 days after taking the medication. Do not use MOTILIUM for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor.

Adults and adolescents (12 years-and over, 35 kg or more)

The usual dose is 1 tablet before meals, up to three times daily, if possible. Do not take more than 3 tablets a day.

MOTILIUM should be used at the lowest effective dose in adults and children.
Application route and method

Take the tablets with water or other liquids. Do not chew the tablets.
Different age groups

Use in the elderly
No dose adjustment is required in patients 65 years of age or older.

MOTILIUM can increase the risk of arrhythmia and cardiac arrest. This risk is probably higher in those over 60 years of age or those who take doses of more than 30mg per day.
Use in children

Newborns, infants, children under 12 years old and adolescents weighing less than 35 kg

The tablets are not suitable for children under 12 years old and adolescents weighing less than 35 kg.

If MOTILIUM is for children, consult your doctor for the appropriate formulation.
Special use cases

Kidney / Liver failure: Contraindicated in patients with moderate and severe hepatic insufficiency. It should be used with caution in cases of kidney failure. The dose should be reduced according to the degree of insufficiency.

If you have an impression that the effect of MOTILIUM is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you use more MOTILIUM than you should

If you have used or have taken too much MOTILIUM, especially if a child has taken too much MOTILIUM, consult your doctor or pharmacist. In the event of overdose, symptomatic treatment should be applied. An ECG monitoring should be initiated because of the possibility of a heart problem called the prolonged QT interval.

Information for the doctor: close monitoring of the patient, gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal and general supportive measures are recommended. Anticholinergic anti-parkinson drugs may help reverse the extrapyramidal effects.

4. What are the possible side effects?

Like all medicines, there may be side effects in people who are sensitive to the substances contained in MOTILIUM.
Unusual:

Involuntary movements of the face, arms or legs, excessive shaking, excessive muscle contraction or muscle spasm

Seizures

These are all very serious side effects.

If you have one of these, you have a serious allergy to MOTILIUM. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalization.
