DEKORT is a tablet containing dexamethasone, a drug in the corticosteroid group.

DEKORT is available in blister packs containing 10 tablets. Each carton contains 20 tablets.

3.How to use DEKORT?
Instructions for appropriate use and dose / frequency of administration

The starting dose can range from 0.75 to 9 mg per day. In mild cases, it may be below 0.75 mg, and in more severe cases, it may exceed 9 mg. The daily dose should be divided into 3 or 4 parts.

The dose used may vary depending on the clinical picture of the patients.

Do not break or chew DEKORT. Swallow it with some water.

Do not forget to take your medicine on time.

Different age groups

Use in children

The starting dose of DEKORT in children may vary depending on the condition of the disease.

The starting dose is 0.02 - 0.3 mg / kg / day and is given in 3 or 4 portions.

The maintenance dose is 0.01 - 0.1 mg / kg / day.

Use in the elderly

Care should be taken in dose selection in the elderly, generally starting from the lower dosage range, taking into account the excessive frequency of renal, hepatic or cardiac function impairment and concomitant disease or other drug therapy. The risk of diabetes, fluid retention and hypertension should be considered, especially in elderly patients treated with corticosteroids.

If you use more DECORT than you should

With taking more than DEKORT, swelling of the throat, skin reaction, and difficulty in breathing can be seen.

If you forgot to use DEKORT

Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses.

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember and then continue as before.
4. What are the possible side effects?

Like all medicines, there may be side effects in people who are sensitive to the substances in the content of DEKORT.

If any of the following occur, stop using DEKORT and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the nearest emergency department:
Debris
Itching
Difficulty breathing or fainting
Angioedema (face and throat swelling as a result of allergy)

These are all very serious side effects. If you have one of these, it means you have a serious allegiance to DEKORT. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalization.

If you notice any of the following, immediately report to your doctor or contact the emergency department of your nearest hospital:
Depressive feeling (including suicidal thoughts)

Irritability, trouble sleeping, memory loss
Feeling, seeing, or hearing nonexistent objects

Serious side effects are very rare.
